Manuela Maleeva
Born February 14, 1967 in Sofia.Her career as a professional competitor spans from 1982 to 1994. For the first time she enters the top 10 in the world rankings on May 28, 1984. She achieved her best ranking 3rd in the world on February 4th 1985, behind Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert.
Her best year end ranking was 6 in 1984 and 1988. Manuela has won 19 singles titles, granting her the 20th place in the all time chart. She has participated in a Grand Slam a total of 41 times, where on two occasions she was a semi-finalist (at the US Open in 1992 and 1993) and reached quarterfinals 12 times (3 in Australia, 4 at Rolan Garos, 1 at Wimbledon and 4 in the US).
