Katerina’s career as a professional competitor spans from 1984 to 1997.
For the first time she places among the top 10 in the world rankings (at №10) on February 30, 1989. Her best placement is at number 6 on July 9, 1990 after Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, Monica Selesh, Zina Garrison and Gabriella Sabbatini. Her best placement in an annual end-of-the-year ranking is at number 6 in 1990.
Katerina has won 11 singles titles.
She has played at the Grand Slam 34 times, reaching quarterfinals 7 times (in Australia in 1990 and 1991, Rolan Garos in 1990, Wimbledon in 1990 and 1992 and the US in 1988 and 1993).
