The Maleeva Tennis Club, situated right next to "Sofia Land" on Nicola Vaptsarov Blvd. in the Losenetz district, opened its gates to the public in the beggining of 2005. The club is founded and owned by the famous sports family, responsible for the greatest tennis successes Bulgaria has ever seen – the three sisters Manuela, Katerina and Magdalena and their mother Julia Berberian-Maleeva.The club is situated on 14 decares of land, with the floors of the building adding up to 2 905 square meters. The architectural design was done by “+ Architecture”. Construction began in February 2004 and was finished in 10 months. Project manager of the site was “Sofia Estates”.
The Club’s greatest merit is the specialized tennis hall, manufactured and delivered to Bulgaria by the global leader in tennis facilities – Astron. The hall offers four tennis courts, covered with carpet and granules.
The complex also offers to its clients’ six outdoor clay courts. The big number of outdoor and indoor courts gives tennis lovers the opportunity to play all year round. Three of the outdoor courts have lights and allow for night play.
The courts are designed in order to host international tennis tournaments. Two of the outdoor courts have permanent spectator seats, and the have the option to construct additional temporary seatings. A separate entry/exit route for the spectators is also planned.
The Tennis School, directed by Joulia Berberian-Maleeva and coaches Dragomir Takev, Valentina Valkova, Martin Penev and Branko Avramovski takes care of young talents, whether they want to make a career in one of the world’s most popular sports or just to have fun.
The club hasn't forgotten squash lovers either, and they have at their disposal a hall, featuring three specialized playing panels (one frontal and one on each side), made by Will of Austria. The hall is equipped with a rear glass wall, allowing Club guests to observe the frequent club tournament matches from seatings covered with carpets and with cushions by Capasca (a bulgarian clothing and home decoration brand).
One of the most spacious fitness halls in Sofia is another of the attractions of the Maleeva sports complex. The vast gym stretches over 400 square meters and is thoroughly equipped with the latest gear from the Cybex. The four treadmills, arc-trainer and three exercise bikes meet the growing interest in cardio-vascular workout. Our visitors are taken care of by three professional instructors—Adrian (Bulgaria’s ex-vice-champion of bodybuilding) , Lyubov, who brings professional experience from the world’s only seven star hotel – Burj Al Arab in Dubai and Svetlin.
In our specialized sports hall, great popularity is enjoyed by our activities in yoga, tae-bo, Tae Fit, boxing and kick-boxing, capoeirha and belly dance.
In addition to all this, the club hosts a Spa centre, which guarantees perfect relaxation after the physical exercise. The centre is equipped with sauna, Jacuzzi, steam bath, solarium and offers rejuvenating massages.
It is the ambition of the Maleeva family to create a cozy and pleasant atmosphere to be enjoyed by people of all ages and all members of the family. Even little kids have their own place in the club—a special Kid’s Corner playground room, where you can entrust your child to the care of an animator.
In the Club’s big foyer are situated a restaurant and a lobby bar, serviced by “La Capanina”, renowned for its Italian specialties from their restaurants at the “Narodno Subranie” square and under the National Palace of Culture’s bridge.
On your way to the fresh, clean and spacious dressing rooms a specialized sports store awaits you, supplied with items by the best sports brands. Here you can string your racquet and purchase the latest tennis apparel, shoes, tennis balls, water.
The Club cares about the good appearance of its clientele too. The clients can take advantage of the services of the hairdressing and cosmetics salon.
Our prices are affordable and cannot be beaten by the other clubs in Sofia. The club is open everyday from 7:00h to 22:00h. All of the main facilities of the club are wheelchair accessible via appropriate platforms. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are also available.
There is no need to worry about parking, as the complex offers outdoor and indoor parking, whose capacity exceeds 50 cars.
We are also one of the few places in Bulgaria that supports recycling.
So, the biggest sports complex in Bulgaria is already at the disposal of everyone with the desire to play sports, rejuvenate, or just relax in a pleasant and serene environment.
